AgroKaz 
On May 15, KEnEU held a training seminar on topic: “Protective and stimulating compositions for seeds pre-sowing treatment of agricultural crops” for students of the EP «Agronomy» within the framework of the AGROKAZ project. The organizer of the seminar was the Kazakh Research Institute of Plant Protection and Quarantine named after Zhazken Zhiyembayev (KRIPPQ).The seminar was opened with a welcoming speech about the current problems of ensuring food security of the country by the KEnEU head of the project, Professor Gainiya Yesseyeva. The main speakers were KRIPPQ scientists. During the seminar, the teaching staff of the Department of Standardization and Food Technologies A.Zh. Kukenov, Zh. Zhsupbekov and the students got acquainted with the use of poplar for the needs of agriculture. This includes the use of poplars for planting material and landscaping of cities and towns. During the seminar, scientific and practical aspects of the use of poplars in agriculture were considered.
The methods of selection and preparation of poplar seedlings, planting and care of plants, the conditions necessary for successful planting, methods of plant care during the first years and evaluation of the quality of plantings were also mastered. Participants studied methods of protection from wind, preservation of moisture in the soil and protection of planting from pests and diseases. Students received professional skills, scientists the opportunity to test the results of scientific developments. As a result of the seminar, further joint projects are planned.
