The AGROKAZ delegation was on a working visit to Alexandroupolis (Greece) from June 24 to 29, 2024.
Colleagues from the Democritus University of Thrace arranged a very extensive program.

On June 25, 2024 at the Nomarcheio Alexandroupolis Exhibition Centre a welcome meeting and speeches within the session “Agriculture, climate change and environment: a view from Greece” took place, where Kazakhstani and foreign scientists in their reports shared alternative ways of farming and methods of training specialists in the educational program “Agroecology”.

In the next two days the AGROKAZ team visited the office of BIOS AGROSYSTEMS SA, a company that produces and distributes seeds of plant varieties derived either from genetic material from its own research or from the cooperation of international and domestic agencies; a farm producing cheese from goat and sheep milk; an olive farm Kyklopas with a century-old Makri olive grove.

Such visits allowed the project participants to get acquainted with the rich history and traditions of Greece, to learn current technologies in agriculture for further dissemination of the acquired knowledge and experience to students studying the educational program “Agroecology”.
On June 28, 2024, a meeting of the project steering committee was held. The meeting concluded the results of the educational visits, discussed the next steps in the implementation of the project and training of specialists in the educational program “Agroecology”. Project coordinators expressed their gratitude to all participants for the accomplished work and wished them further success in achieving the set results.
