In the afternoon, as part of KEnEU International Week 2025, a panel discussion was held on the role of employers and agricultural enterprises in the development of dual education.

Saniya Tulkubaeva, scientific secretary, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, and associate professor, shared her experience of mentoring students majoring in agroecology at KEnEU.

According to her, it was no coincidence that the Zarechnoye Agricultural Research Station was chosen as a partner for the AGROKAZ project: the enterprise has highly qualified personnel, modern material and technical resources, and unique scientific potential. Students are already undergoing practical training at the station and will continue their education in a number of specialised disciplines in the future.

The discussion was also attended by the CEO of Zhas Kanat – 2006 LLP, Chairman of the Union of Poultry Farmers of Kazakhstan Kairat Maishev, Director of the Aulikol Agricultural College Almira Zhansugurova, Director of the BESTkz Education and Tourism Centre Gulmira Kapenova.
Almira Zhansugurova emphasised that dual education is one of the most relevant areas of technical and vocational training.
Kairat Maishev noted that “personnel decide everything” so a competent personnel policy and high-quality training of specialists are key factors in the development of the industry. Dual education, according to him, serves as a bridge between the state, business, the education system, and science. In parallel with the panel discussion, foreign guest Professor Spiridon Kutrobas, PhD, of Democritus University of Thrace, gave a lecture to KEnEU students and teachers on “The efficient use of nitrogen: the key to sustainable crop production”. The professor presented the results of his university’s experiments and shared methods for improving the efficiency of nitrogen nutrition in plants.
